If you want to do a self-evaluation there are a few methods that a lay-person can employ. Compare job listings from our site or a trade publication to your skills – does some of your experience transfer or are you starting from square one? Consider taking classes in fundraising to help you gain knowledge. Volunteer. Try to find someone in development that you could shadow; this is the time to make sure this is something you really want to do.
